ABOUT SWEEP OPTICAL

A full-service, state-of-the-art ophthalmic laboratoryInside the lab since 1992

Unlike most opthalmic labs, SWEEP Optical provides frames as well as lenses, providing you with the convenience of one-stop ordering.  Displaying our frames on your wall means you can have eyewear made for your customers without having to ship frames.

Our specialty is providing value and choice. SWEEP began in 1992 when the state of Oregon asked our non-profit home, Laurel Hill Center, to make eyewear for state agencies serving low-income people. Since then we have become known for providing a large selection of Medicaid approved and other value frames, in addition to eyewear in other price-ranges.
Providers appreciate our SWEEP packages, like our single vision CR-39 which provides an unbeatable price for single vision eyewear.

Last year SWEEP Optical served 225 optometrists and other providers statewide, and produced 32,500 pairs of glasses, bringing our 16-year total to 850,000 pairs. That translates into expertise you can trust.

ABOUT LAUREL HILL CENTER

Optical laboratory...mental health rehabilitation agency...a relationship you don't often see.

Front of BuildingBut it is a partnership that has worked well at Laurel Hill Center (LHC). SWEEP Optical, an LHC subsidiary, contributes financial support for psychiatric rehabilitation services. LHC provides a range of services: Supported Housing, Supported Employment, Medication Management, Intensive Outreach, and Pathways Learning Center.  Navigating the complexities of community life can be challenging so skills are taught in the community environments where they will be used - skills that help people with severe mental illness get and keep regular community housing, go to school, work, and rebuild relationships with children, other family members, and friends.

Our services do more than help individuals secure survival basics; we help people recover their lives.  Together, LHC's services provide the skills and support to help individuals succeed, as we address the root problems of poverty, homelessness, and isolation that can prevent their recovery. The nationally-recognized Laurel Hill Center has helped thousands of people lead fuller, more self-sufficient lives, and is respected for its success in serving people who have had difficulty elsewhere.
